Ubuntu Linux - Frequently Asked Questions
An excellent article that compares Firefox 2.0 to Internet Explorer 7 can be found here on CNET's web site. The article is written like the transcript from a 5 round boxing match. Each round was a fight over 5 different categories: Installation, Look and Community, Tabbed Browsing, Cool New Features, and finally Security and Performance. Firefox came out wining in all five categories. Short of copying anything from the article, I highly recommend you give it a look. CNET is one of the webs most respected source for tech news and reviews. One of the categories (Look and Community) gave some mention to Firefox's open-source community of users and developers who continue to advance the development of Firefox. But more attention should be given to the wins in all 5 categories for the sheer fact that Firefox is open source software, and that certainly didn't hold it back in the eyes of CNET's judges. Isn't it great to see things like Firefox and Linux win the reviewers over even though they were the result of a lot of volunteer work from the public? Open source design really is the way of the future.
